From photographer Tenth & Grace via Style Me Pretty … When you live in the public eye, the thought of planning a huge wedding in front of hundreds of people can be pretty overwhelming. That’s exactly why our bride – a popular morning news anchor – wanted her wedding to be small and very private. The couple decided on an intimate elopement at Belmond El Encanto in Santa Barbara with only their photographer, videographer, and officiant in attendance.

Belmond El Encanto is the perfect venue for a romantic elopement – it is private and secluded, tucked above in the hills of Santa Barbara with sweeping views down to the ocean. After getting ready in their suite, the bride and groom exchanged vows on the terrace. The couple took additional portraits at Butterfly Beach in Montecito before enjoying their private dinner back at the hotel. All the details that they planned came together perfectly, and – most importantly – their day was just about them!

From the Photographer… When I think of planning a wedding personally I like to think of colors that would work with all seasons! When TOAST Santa Barbara and I got together we decided early on that we were striving to show brides an earthy feel with a hint of boho goodness that would be acceptable for any season. The warm earthy tones accented by brass, pinks, purples, and touches of blue bring out any season on an effortless level. Simple organic beauty found within nature is key when it comes to a multi season look if I do say so myself. The shoot took place at a private estate over looking Santa Barbara – it was the perfect escape for the shoot, bringing it full circle, embracing the soft sounds of nature and breeze. And personally, if I could have dinner on this mountain top everyday, I would.

A Romantic and Fanciful Santa Ynez, CA Wine Country Wedding

The romance of a Wine Country wedding rarely disappoints. The light always seems to illuminate exactly right, the landscape compels a deeply held and joyfully exhaled breath, and the colors seem grander even in comparison. So when the founder of Flutter Magazine was planning her wedding, she teamed up with industry mavens Joy Proctor, Jose Villa, and Amy Osaba to create and capture this stunning Santa Ynez celebration. One can imagine the beauty that unfolded. Enjoy the scroll, as collected from the full coverage over on Style Me Pretty.

From Event Designer, Joy Proctor, “The color palette reflected Kim’s style through and through, with warm watermelon, coral, and sunset tones paired against taupes and creams as a nod to their engagement in Tuscany. To evoke the playful yet elegant aesthetic that Kim is so known for, we used a beautiful watercolor crest designed by Monvoir, complete with florals and butterflies throughout the suite…As a nod to their Italian engagement, Kim and Tyson wanted to share an al fresco dining experience with their guests. To create an intimate environment we built a beautiful structure draped in taupe fabric over two rows of dining tables. Florals and greenery grew up the structure organically, while Tuscan style chandeliers hung down the center. Linen chairs and wooden tables added to the Tuscan feel, while artisanal breads, olive oil, fruits and flowers created for a lush, edible tabletop.” How incredibly lovely…

A Couple’s Romantic Getaway Turned Wedding Destination in Santa Barbara, California

Santa Barbara, California has long been a destination hotspot for all things weddings. We should know… TEAM is headquartered here; having styled a myriad of bridal parties in this magical town nestled between the sunglint ocean and the majestic mountains. So we get that Heather + Peter, with a history of traveling to this neck of the woods for getaways, chose to also make it part of their wedding day story.

It didn’t take long after Heather and Peter met to fall in love… They knew they wanted to get married in Santa Barbara (one of their favorite getaway spots) which would also be a wonderful holiday destination for their families traveling from New York and the Mid-West in the late fall. They had originally thought about a vineyard wedding but the moment they walked into El Encanto, they knew it was the place for them. It was the perfect balance of romance and elegance that they wanted for their wedding day.

…that ocean view! Sigh.

A Modern Gilded San Francisco Wedding

The Moody Elegance of a Romantic Rainy Day Wedding

We all know how exceptionally romantic rainfall can be. We watch as star crossed lovers dance, sing (and ultimately kiss) along the cobblestone streets of Paris in old movies. Couples huddle close under umbrellas. Skip over puddles. Get drenched in the rain. It’s all in good fun, of course; the sentiments of poets and seers have long believed Spring showers are luck charms. They cleanse and refresh for new beginnings. So you can imagine the drizzling enchantment of this floral and candlelight infused Carpinteria, California wedding.

This take from event designer TOAST Santa Barbara… They say it’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day, so when you live in California where there’s a never-ending drought, it must mean something extra special to get that day full of drizzle! Stephanie and Kevin wanted a day that would feel unique to them and their style as a couple and to create a warm and fun atmosphere for their guests. They decided the incredibly beautiful Villa Sevillano would be the perfect place to host their friends and family. With its lush gardens and Italian architecture, it set the tone for an elegant and intimate weekend.

Enchanting San Ysidro Ranch Wedding

There’s a reason why Ysidro Ranch, nestled in the Santa Barbara alcove of Montecito, is a wedding destination hot spot…the charming landscape enchants. World renowned for its storybook elegance, it’s top on wishlists. And time and again, Style Me Pretty selects the créme de la créme from it. Like this romantic alfresco wedding…

From the Bride… We envisioned our wedding to be modern, traditional and elegant. We chose the San Ysidro Ranch for it’s storied history, privacy, romantic, intimate and scenic location. Because only our immediate families were in attendance, we opted for a formal and elegant affair serenaded by an acoustic duo under the stars. We enjoyed a caviar and champagne cocktail hour, followed by a fine wine pairing and a five course dinner with accompaniment of amuse bouche and an intermezzo.

It was truly an affair to remember from the exchanging of our vows on the lower lawn, to the decadent sit-down dinner, chandeliers hanging from the branches above us creating a whimsical setting. The enchanting glow of the candles, lavish table settings, aromatic fragrance from the lush floral arraignments complimenting the aroma of the fine cuisine. Laughter coupled with the cheers and speeches and background music creating a magical evening to remember. We are exceedingly happy and pleased that our dreams were executed so flawlessly.
