And Santa Barbara, California -a top destination hot spot for all things weddings and secret rendezvousing – is the perfect place to do an elopement right. Take this inspiration photoshoot, where we teamed up with photographer Lacie Hansen and Bluebird Productions to bring you this visual delight, as featured on Style Me Pretty…
From Bluebird Productions…Inspired by the colors of the American Riviera and the desire to have a perfectly intimate elopement that could then be shared, a fabulous group of vendors crafted the ideal elopement. The elopement consists of experiences at the Santa Barbara courthouse followed by a tour around town, dinner and cake in a romantic courtyard and a sunset toast on the beach…Bright and cheerful flowers decorate the intentionally set table to compliment colors of the areas surroundings and add a bit of “pop” to punctuate the celebration.

Surrounded by 130 of our close family and friends, we said our “I do’s” in the historic Wallace Neff courtyard with the rolling hills of the Ojai Valley as our backdrop. The ceremony was followed by cocktail hour in the terraced herb garden. The Get Down Boys provided a fun bluegrass music backdrop and were a hit with our guests. The reception dinner was held on the Orchard lawn below and was set up with extra long tables and strung with twinkle lights. DJ Wes of RedShoe L.A. Got everyone on the dance floor following our first dance and joint father/daughter dance.
And how perfect is this classic upswept ‘do?

“Having grown up in Los Angeles, we knew we wanted to highlight the West Coast’s splendor,” Ivette says. Bacara Resort & Spa in Goleta, California, was the perfect place to start, with its dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean, luxe amenities and beautifully appointed event spaces. The day began with an outdoor ceremony on an oceanside bluff, where Ivette and Alberto exchanged heartfelt vows, framed by romantic, garden-inspired arrangements of hydrangeas and roses displayed atop pillars of stone.

Martha Stewart Weddings Feature with Carats and Cake
It’s no secret that we love Carats and Cake ( see our features here!) , so when Founder and CEO, Jess Levin married Kevin Conroy we were honored to style her hair and makeup. And voila…! Their chic and modern Southern California wedding is now in the pages of Martha Stewart Weddings.
Around their fourth anniversary, on a quintessential fall day in Laguna Beach, when the temps were in the 70s and a light breeze blew down the coast, they made things official. On November 14, 2015, Jess and Kevin fused the aesthetics of New York City (where they live) with Southern California (where they wed) for their big day at the Montage Laguna Beach hotel. With 100 of their nearest and dearest, the formal affair was part of an intimate wedding weekend that brought everyone together, beginning with a fiesta-themed welcome party.
