Eleven years ago, Mar Romero took a lifelong dream, and a chance, using her artistic talent to launch T.E.A.M. Hair and Makeup. Moving back in with Mom and Dad and pooling all of her resources to go after her vision, Mar created what we know now as the most highly revered, Santa Barbara-based on-location styling company for weddings throughout the United States.
Mar Romero, a fourth-generation Latina with Mexican parents, was raised in San Diego, with dreams even as a little girl of becoming a stylist. A completely self-taught artist of her own design, Mar’s art form goes above and beyond perfection. Her vision for each individual bride is one of true talent and ability. Perseverance and dedication has taken her from being a young and confident entrepreneur, to a master of her trade.
In ten years, Mar and her “T.E.A.M.” have worked with thousands of brides throughout Santa Barbara, San Diego, Los Angeles and beyond, to Mexico, Hawaii, and Las Vegas, just to name a few locations outside of Southern California. TEAM’s outstanding reputation only increases each season, being “The Source” for wedding styling throughout Southern California.
“For me, the most important aspect of working with a bride is to make her feel as confident as possible. Every woman is beautiful on her wedding day, and for me, as a stylist, confidence is the purest form of beauty. So, if the bride feels the most confident about herself, her beauty will reflect how she feels inside”, states Mar Romero, reflecting on her ten years of being a wedding stylist.
When a bride books with T.E.A.M., she gets the royal treatment with a 2-hour trial, where the bride can choose from either airbrush or traditional makeup, merging her ideas with Mar’s expertise. Mar and her team come to the location where the bridal party will get ready, and create stunningly timeless looks that are in line with the bride and bridal party’s vision for the wedding.
