I just had to share some of these amazing black and white images, from last month’s cover shoot for Rue Magazine. The models were a couple in real life which made for beautiful chemistry!

Jose Villa Mexico Workshop Featured on Style Me Pretty!

By |2011-06-23T11:16:09-06:00June 23rd, 2011|Featured, Photo shoot|

We are so excited about being apart of Jose’s Mexico workshop again this November! Below is the Announcement featured on Style Me Pretty!

Jose Villa Workshop Announcement

June 9th. 2011 by Abby LarsonFiled Under20 comments

It’s been a Jose Villa kind of day here on SMP. With one perfect piece of wedding candy after another. Well, we’re wrapping up this Jose party with one last burst of gorgeousness along with the official announcement of his next intensive photography workshop, being held November 13-17th of 2011. An opportunity of a lifetime to learn from the best of the biz and experience wedding beauty at an entirely new level. Here is a peak of his last workshop, where Joy Thigpen whipped together one of the most lovely engagement and wedding photoshoots I have ever seen. And I’ve seen quite a few. Click here to see all of the gorgeous goodness.

And the amazing (seriously, you might die of envy after seeing the experience that these lucky photographers got to have)…

Jose Villa Photography, TEAM Hair and Makeup, Joel Serrato Films, La Fleur Weddings & Events and Erica OBrien Cake Design are members of our Little Black Book. For more information on how members are chosen, click here.

Saja and Ivy & Aster are members of our Look Book. For more information on how members are chosen, click here.

The next workshop is being held November 13-17th, 2011 and will include such superstars as Kate ofFlower WildKarina Puente, Mar of TEAM Hair and MakeupJoel Serrato FilmsJill La Fleur. Oh and you just might get an appearance by yours truly. That’s right. I’m packing up and heading to Mexico to experience this incredible, once in a lifetime workshop, gabbing about getting your weddings published and using the internet to really allow your brand to thrive.

Jose’s workshops have been known to sell out within MINUTES of their official announcement so if I were you, I would head right over to his site and reserve yourself a space. After speaking to about 10 attendees from this last workshop, I can tell you that they were giddy…bursting at the seams excited to apply all of the knowledge and experience that Jose shared. If you can swing it, this workshop truly is a career changing experience.Vendors who contributed to the above shoot…

Flowerwild Photo Shoot with Jose Villa

By |2011-05-09T11:15:23-06:00May 9th, 2011|Photo shoot|

A few months back we teamed up with Kate of Flowerwild Designs & Jose Villa Photography. The shoot took place at Kate’s workshop which showcased some of her amazing floral designs. We wanted to keep the hair and makeup clean, elegant & timeless. The emphasis on the eyes, with a light brown shimmer swept across her lids, long beautiful lashes & nude lips. I loved the hair accessories! The pink hat & the headband with real berries-love!

Smoke and Mirrors

By |2010-10-20T14:58:27-06:00October 20th, 2010|Makeup, Photo shoot|

We recently got a chance to do the hair and makeup on the 2011 lookbook with the girls of Smoke & Mirrors. The duo originally met while attending Otis College of Art & Design in the late 1990’s. After Michelle launched two collections on her own and decided to move to New York & Emily became a contestant on Bravo’s 5th season of “Project Runway,” the friends decided to join forces. In the Fall of 2007, the girls launched their first women’s designer contemporary collection under the name,  Smoke & Mirrors. Ranging from bold colors to soft neutrals, to graphics and prints, these easy to wear playful pieces translate into must haves each season. Take a peak below at some of Smoke & Mirrors newest additions for Spring 2011. Enjoy!

Photo shoot with Jasmine Star

By |2010-07-25T09:00:34-06:00July 25th, 2010|Photo shoot|

We were thrilled with the opportunity to work with Jasmine Star at a really cool location in LA, called the Marvimon. We had a blast doing non-traditional makeup and hair. We did different looks from dramatic sexy looks, to fun bubble-gum pink lips, to heads wrapped in touile, using feathers, flowers, lace and fun jewelry in the hair. Check it out!
