What do you like best about the age you are now? I love my 30’s. Every year I grow more comfortable in my skin and more settled into all aspects of my crazy my life! I wouldn’t wish to be back in my 20’s. I definitely had a blast but I’m happy to look back at those wild memories and see how far I’ve come!

What advice do you wish you could give your 13 year old self? Just trust everything will fall into place exactly as it is supposed to! And wear SPF 50 every day because they will turn into sunspots before you know it!!

What is the most exciting thing about your work industry? There are so many exciting aspects of my job; from fashion weeks, to visiting beautiful destinations all over the world, but the most exciting part of my job is meeting so many cool, strong, funny, interesting, independent  women.

Your favorite on-site wedding location is… San Ysidro Ranch
When you’re not working, what do you love to do the most? When I’m not working I am spending time with my family and having early evening dance parties with my husband, 4 year daughter and 5 month old son!
Go-to song/TV show/movie…Homeland, 60 minutes (because I’m a grandma at heart)
If you could work on any wedding anywhere in the world, where would it be? Bali- it is my most favorite place in the world so any excuse to go back time and time again I am down!
Thank you, Nicole! Want to see more of her work? Follow her new Instagram!

Justin Alexander - New York Bridal Fashion Week

TEAM headed off to New York for Bridal Fashion Week, at the runway and behind-the-scenes ready. And to see our work come to life as it mingles with exquisite and spellbinding artistry is one very key reason why we love doing what we do. Check out some of the highlights from both shows. Betting you’ll agree there’s a whole lot of lovely going on…

Justin Alexander latest features clean cut-outs and abstract beading…including crepe, organza jacquard, buttery satin and Mikado create clean gowns, and unique detailing… The design team experimented with soft construction and illusion bodices with fine detailing to balance comfort and striking appeal.

Anne Barge, the vintage-inspired epitome of classic bridal style with a contemporary twist, gives this Spring collection her take on the picture perfect gown. From Vogue, “Here, she expanded her horizons with low-back dresses, some with whisper-light treatments like reembroidered Alençon lace on tulle, that were easy to imagine at a destination wedding in Portofino or St. Barth’s. Barge’s channeling of the ’60s—Françoise Hardy was on the soundtrack, Bardot bands were in the hair—was a win, whether you are team Bouvier or Hepburn.” See for yourself…

A Couple’s Romantic Getaway Turned Wedding Destination in Santa Barbara, California

By |2017-03-06T22:33:16-07:00March 6th, 2017|Featured, Real Wedding, Uncategorized|

El Encanto Santa Barbara wedding / Style Me Pretty

Santa Barbara, California has long been a destination hotspot for all things weddings. We should know… TEAM is headquartered here; having styled a myriad of bridal parties in this magical town nestled between the sunglint ocean and the majestic mountains. So we get that Heather + Peter, with a history of traveling to this neck of the woods for getaways, chose to also make it part of their wedding day story.

From the photographer, as featured on Style Me Pretty…

It didn’t take long after Heather and Peter met to fall in love… They knew they wanted to get married in Santa Barbara (one of their favorite getaway spots) which would also be a wonderful holiday destination for their families traveling from New York and the Mid-West in the late fall. They had originally thought about a vineyard wedding but the moment they walked into El Encanto, they knew it was the place for them. It was the perfect balance of romance and elegance that they wanted for their wedding day.

Martha Stewart Weddings Feature / The Style Issue

By |2016-11-05T14:35:33-06:00October 5th, 2016|Featured, Real Wedding, Spotlight, Uncategorized|

martha stewart weddings magazine feature

We are beside ourselves with this feature in the latest issue of Martha Stewart Weddings / The Style Issue!  It was an honor to do hair and makeup for this gorgeous and joyful multi-cultural wedding; the bride, Hana, in a word…stunning. The couple’s story is one to behold…

It’s not surprising that Olu Ajijola, a cardiologist, and Hana Malek, then a trauma nurse, first met in an intensive care unit. It was 2009, and Olu, newly arrived in Los Angeles from Boston, came to Hana’s ICU to consult on a patient; he quickly found excuses to return to “check on him.” “I thought she was beautiful, and her eyes really struck me,” he recalls. The two had their first date three weeks later and were soon a couple.

Other events at an ER two years later turned out to be just as fateful. Hana had suddenly become ill and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. “Her voice on the phone, scared and sounding poorly, was one of the hardest things I’ve ever listened to,” says Olu. He rushed to see her, and they exchanged a wordless hug. “It felt like an eternity,” says Hana. “We’d known we loved each other, but we hadn’t made the leap to feeling we wanted to end our lives together. That night started us on the path.”

The two wine and nature lovers found the perfect venue in the Vintage Ranch, 200 miles northwest of their home in L.A., with its views of rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards… Few knew that Olu had carried that idea even further, engraving lines from Hana’s electrocardiogram into his ring to have her heartbeat always near.
